Description
MUST B1 FIRE RATED PU FOAM is a specially formulated, single component, expanding construction foam with fire retardant properties. It meets the extremely stringent requirements of DIN 4102 Part 1 for Construction Materials Class B1 where fire ratings of 30min to 4 hours are achievable. It is used to create a seal between building elements and around intrusions. It cures through reaction with atmospheric moisture to a semi-flexible foam with tenacious adhesion to most construction materials. When used as a gap filler it ensures stability and flexibility of fixed elements. The foam is manufactured in compliance with requirements of ISO 9001:2008 standard.
Features
Quick drying, moisture curing
Non flammable propellant
Fire resistance in joints up to 30mm of 120 minutes
Bonds perfectly on most substrates without primer
Can be used to fill irregular gaps and cavities
Can be shaped and cut after dry
Can be painted or plastered over
Low thermal conductivity helps prevent cold gaps and condensation
Good acoustic insulation properties
It does not contain any propellant gases that are harmful to the ozone layer
Application
It has been especially developed to provide a simple method for providing a fire resistant seal in filling irregular gaps and cavities between building elements such as separation walls, ceilings and floors and around intrusions such as pipes, cable trays, conduits and ducting. It is ideal for rapid, economic fixing and sealing around window and door frames.
Direction of Use:
1. surface preparation: to ensure optimum adhesion substrates must
be sound, clean, dry and free from any loosely adherent material which could prevent adequate bond to the substrate.
2. product preparation: too cold can should be brought to room temperature, e.g. by immersion in warm water with temperature up to 30°C or leaving it in room temperature for at least 24 hours.
3. Application:
• Put on protective gloves
• Vigorously shake the can for 30 seconds by the valve facing down to thoroughly mix the components.
• Screw the can onto the applicator.
• Working position of the can is “valve facing down”
• Vertical gaps should be filled with foam starting at the bottom and moving up.
• Do not fill the entire gap- the foam will increase in volume.
• In case of foam drying in the applicator, the applicator tip should be cut off, which enables resuming work with foam.
Restrictions
• The foam should not be used in spaces without access of fresh air and poorly ventilated or in places exposed to direct sunlight.
• Storage above +30 °C and below +5 °C shortens shelf life.
• Should be stored and transported in vertical position.
• Cured foam will discolor if exposed to ultraviolet light.
• Paint or coat the cured foam for best results in outdoor applications.
• Should be kept in room temperature for at least 12 hours before the application.
Shelf Life
12 months in unopened container when stored between 60°- 90°F (16°- 32°C), in
a dry, well-ventilated area
